Durango city councilors approved the matter last week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/durangoherald.com\/articles\/261466\">The proposed expansion was announced earlier this month<\/a>, which would have the airport acquire the property adjacent to the airport, on the northeast side.<\/p>\n<p>The purchase will be funded by existing fees from the \u201cPassenger Facility Charge,\u201d a $4.50 fee assessed to every airport passenger.
