{"id":60526,"date":"2018-08-21T19:05:51","date_gmt":"2018-08-22T01:05:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/durango-to-los-angeles-flight-to-end-sept-1\/"},"modified":"2018-08-22T01:05:51","modified_gmt":"2018-08-22T01:05:51","slug":"durango-to-los-angeles-flight-to-end-sept-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/durango-to-los-angeles-flight-to-end-sept-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Durango to Los Angeles flight to end Sept. 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=64ef4bf8-7b22-4765-87cf-38fb98c6f0e4&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"1542\" height=\"878\" alt=\"American Eagle will end its summer Saturday flight from Durango to Los Angeles on Sept. 1.\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">American Eagle will end its summer Saturday flight from Durango to Los Angeles on Sept. 1.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald file<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Seasonal Durango to Los Angeles flights offered Saturdays will end Sept. 1, and there are no plans to increase their frequency or to extend them beyond the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Nichelle Tait, a spokeswoman with American Airlines, said the airline does not release passenger numbers on a particular flight, and no plans exist to extend the run for the flight, which is under the American Eagle regional brand.<\/p>\n<p>Tait said several factors are examined in changing or adding to a flight schedule, including market conditions, aircraft availability and network flight patterns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDurango is no exception\u201d to this analysis, she said.<\/p>\n<p>American Eagle seasonal flights to LA started June 9 for the third consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Vicari, director of aviation for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.durangogov.org\/index.aspx?nid=202\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Durango-La Plata County Airport<\/a>, said, \u201cWe continue to engage American Airlines about expanding the season and frequency.
