The town had earlier applied for and received a grant to install a charging station for electric vehicles traveling through the area. The board has contracted with Living Solar, a Durango company, to install the charging station at a cost of $29,445.

In response to concerns from members of the board about maintenance and software upgrades for the charging station, Alvarez had received a quote from Living Solar for $3,400 for a two-year support contract. The board approved the contract unanimously. The charging station is expected to be installed by November.

In other business, the board:

Heard concerns from two town residents about Cottonwood Park and things going on there – someone shooting a bow and arrow and horse droppings.
