Law enforcement officials seized marijuana and child pornography in a raid last week in Mancos that involved personnel from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Cortez Police Department, Homeland Security and the U.S. Marshall\u2019s Office, said Montezuma County Sheriff Dennis Spruell.<\/p>\n
An eyewitness said that up to 15 unmarked SUVs were on Country Road J about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15. All wore black, according to the witness.<\/p>\n
Spruell said his detectives assisted the FBI in executing a search warrant as a residence on County Road J.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe search was looking for evidence concerning interstate distribution of child pornography,\u201d Spruell said. \u201cDuring the search, a large quantity of marijuana as well as child pornography was seized.\u201d<\/p>\n
FBI officials in Denver said only that the FBI was executing a federal search warrant in Montezuma County.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, I am not able to discuss anything further at this time,\u201d said FBI spokesperson Dave Joly.<\/p>\n
