A 60-kilowatt direct-current photovoltaic energy project could save Mancos nearly $75,000 over the next 20 years.<\/p>\n
Officials from Rosen Perry, LLC are scheduled to present a proposal to design, install, operate and finance the solar-powered project tonight at the town\u2019s board of trustees meeting. Held at Town Hall, the public forum starts at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
Under the terms of a 20-year Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the town\u2019s kilowatt addressable utility rate would be discounted by five percent. Thereafter it would escalate at 3.5 percent a year, projecting to save the Town $74,193 when compared to the annual utility rate increase of five percent.<\/p>\n
According to a company memo, the proposal requires no capital investment or expense from the town until a solar PPA is entered. The town\u2019s financial obligations under such an agreement are limited to the purchase of power produced by the proposed renewable energy project, the memo further states.<\/p>\n
Attempts to reach company official Sam Perry for comments were unsuccessful as of press time.<\/p>\n

Appoint a new member to the board.<\/p>\n
Examine purchasing and bidding policies.<\/p>\n

Consider a new Rosenbaum minor subdivision.<\/p>\n
