{"id":53402,"date":"2020-06-12T18:31:42","date_gmt":"2020-06-13T00:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/county-launches-digital-planning-portal\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T04:04:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T10:04:19","slug":"county-launches-digital-planning-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/county-launches-digital-planning-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"County launches digital planning portal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!-- gallery:852cd02d-a0e0-411f-ad8b-666b78d66fa8 --><\/p>\n<p>Montezuma County Planning Department has launched an<\/p>\n<p>Users can upload planning and zoning documents, and permit applications, and they can submit them digitally.<\/p>\n<p>The public also can view public notices and submitted land development plans under review by the planning and zoning board and county commissioners.<\/p>\n<p>Planning Director Don Haley said the department has been working to implement the project since fall and launched the portal in March when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was coincidental timing. People could continue to conduct business on the digital platform without having to come into the office,\u201d Haley said. \u201cIt turned out to be a great benefit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Applicants will have to create an account, but citizens who want to review public records and development proposals do not need an account.<\/p>\n<p>The portal system is more user-friendly than the previous system of accessing online public documents, Haley said.<\/p>\n<p>It also gives users access to septic and environmental regulations and permits, addressing information, road and bridge requirements and driveway permits.
