{"id":52492,"date":"2020-07-27T16:43:24","date_gmt":"2020-07-27T22:43:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/red-mountain-pass-reopens-after-mudslides\/"},"modified":"2020-07-27T22:43:24","modified_gmt":"2020-07-27T22:43:24","slug":"red-mountain-pass-reopens-after-mudslides","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/red-mountain-pass-reopens-after-mudslides\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Mountain Pass reopens after mudslides"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=d8fb9c34-8f50-419b-9f91-ed0c4fe99fdb&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"1540\" height=\"964\" alt=\"\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>U.S. Highway 550\u2019s Red Mountain Pass between Silverton and Ouray has reopened as of 4:45 p.m. after debris and mudslides closed the highway for a short time Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa Schwantes, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation, said the highway was closed around 3 p.m. at mile marker 83, near Ironton, about 8 miles south of Ouray.<\/p>\n<p>At 4:45 p.m., Schwantes was informed crews were able to fully reopen the road.<\/p>\n<p>The return of monsoons to Southwest Colorado has brought heavy rains the past few days.
