{"id":52189,"date":"2020-08-12T16:36:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-12T22:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/family-dispute-leads-to-2-arrests-in-durango\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T03:58:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T09:58:56","slug":"family-dispute-leads-to-2-arrests-in-durango","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/family-dispute-leads-to-2-arrests-in-durango\/","title":{"rendered":"Family dispute leads to 2 arrests in Durango"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=f8c98fd3-0493-46f1-9f45-e64e5149b68b&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"831\" height=\"467\" alt=\"\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Two men were arrested late Saturday and early Sunday morning after a family argument led one man to assault another with a hammer at the Junction Creek Mobile Home Park.<\/p>\n<p>La Plata County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies responded to three emergency calls beginning at 10:47 p.m. Saturday when police were called to the mobile home park, 535 Junction Creek Road (County Road 204).<\/p>\n<p>Deputies arrested Javid Flores-Lara, 34, who is suspected of assaulting another man with a hammer. Flores-Lara was arrested on suspicion of second degree assault, said Sheriff\u2019s Office Sgt. Wes Doughty.<\/p>\n<p>Doughty said the man who was assaulted with the hammer suffered a minor hand injury that did not require hospitalization.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the family dispute was unclear, Doughty said, but the dispute involved a group of people, some of whom were unrelated to the family.
