Mission accomplished.

Anthony Flint scored 20 points with six in each of the first three quarters one day after he finished with only six points in a loss to Bayfield, and the Demons ran away from the Panthers to secure a 71-54 victory in the third-place game of the Southwest Classic on Saturday at DHS.

“It was a good bounce back. We just had to keep our energy on a Saturday morning after a tough loss the night before,” Flint said. “It’s been nice for me to get into the lane and finish over people and add that extra dimension to my game this year.”

Jasper Zastrocky of Durango High School puts up a shot while playing Montezuma-Cortez High School on Saturday during the Southwest Classic basketball tournament at Durango High School.Jerry McBride/Durango Herald

Durango (2-2) came out more aggressive Saturday and attacked the basket off the dribble.
