A one-car rollover Friday on County Road 29 led to the arrest of the driver by the Colorado State Patrol, according to first responders.<\/p>\n
Drug or alcohol use was suspected in the crash, said Trooper Gary Cutler.<\/p>\n
About 3:30 p.m. a northbound blue Ford Focus with three occupants went off the roadway near Totten Lake and rolled down a steep embankment, said Charles Borden, battalion chief for the Cortez Fire Protection District.<\/p>\n
The car, registered in New Mexico, sustained heavy damage and came to rest upright in a sagebrush field on the east side of the road.<\/p>\n
A man, woman and child had exited the vehicle by the time first responders arrived.<\/p>\n
They were not transported by ambulance, but the Colorado State Patrol reported there were unspecified injuries.<\/p>\n
The driver, a 26-year-old man from Cortez, was taken into custody by the Colorado State Patrol, according to first responders at the scene.<\/p>\n
The road was closed at 3:42 p.m. in both directions and reopened at 4:30 p.m., Culter said.<\/p>\n
Local emergency crews and law enforcement responded, including Cortez Fire Protection District, Montezuma County Sheriff\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office, Southwest Health System Ambulance, and the Colorado State Patrol.<\/p>\n
