It has festivals and weekends of entertainment planned through the beginning of October along with camping, RVing, zip-lining, stand-up paddleboarding, disc golf, a 60-foot challenge course and a host of other activities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the resort\u2019s website, \u201cTico Time\u201d is a phrase \u201cused to describe Costa Ricans\u2019 nonchalant attitude toward time, and their relaxed attitude in general. It is similar to island time.\u201d It\u2019s also a newspaper in Costa Rica \u2013 <em>The Tico Times<\/em>, said Ashlee Garcia, the resort\u2019s manager, adding that the owners, Robert and Jenny Holmes of Durango, travel there often and that\u2019s where their inspiration came from.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=e1252641-2502-4c13-8e12-e2436a7cacaa&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" alt=\"People take to the Animas River Saturday at Tico Time.\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">People take to the Animas River Saturday at Tico Time.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>The festivals feature an assortment of music genres, including bluegrass, reggae, EDM, country and hard rock.<\/p>\n<p>First up will be the resort\u2019s Bluegrass Festival, the weekend of April 29 to May 2. The fest features a full lineup of bands, including many that have graced these A&amp;E pages, such as Stillhouse Junkies, High Country Hustle, Liver Down the River, Six Dollar String Band, Lala Bones and Alex Blocker.<\/p>\n<p>On the heels of the Bluegrass Festival will be the resort\u2019s Reggae Festival, May 13 to 15, which along with a full schedule, will also feature a tribute to Bunny Wailer, who died in March at age 73.<\/p>\n<p>As the popularity of the resort grows, so, too, does the focus on music, Garcia said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really think that Robert just really wanted to get into music,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s an awesome RV park, but really he wanted to focus more on the music aspect of Tico Time and making it more of a music venue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=d715004c-da7d-494e-855d-9cd5452e2f96&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" alt=\"A new stage is under construction at Tico Time north of Aztec.\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">A new stage is under construction at Tico Time north of Aztec.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Garcia said people should plan to buy their tickets ahead of time online. There is a half-day and full-day admission options as well as three- and four-days and even longer.
