According to contest rules, people younger than 18 can submit a graphic design that will be used on the vehicle\u2019s exterior wrap, which is a car exterior design technique where an image or a design is printed and wrapped around the vehicle. According to a news release, FEUS planned to launch the contest last year before the vehicle was purchased in June 2020. Then the pandemic hit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has been a tough year for everyone \u2013 especially our youths,\u201d said Hank Adair, director of FEUS. \u201cStudents have been bravely navigating these past 12 months of modified  education, no sports and missing out on time-honored school traditions. We decided to open the contest as we are beginning to emerge from this challenging time, providing youths an opportunity to showcase their creativity to the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Farmington Municipal Schools could not be reached for comment about whether the schools would encourage students to participate in the contest.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the contest will receive a $100 gift card to Target and have their graphic incorporated into the wrap design.<\/p>\n<p>The contest, called \u201cDress the LEAF,\u201d so named for the make and model of the car, Nissan LEAF, is open to youths who live in the utility\u2019s service area. Submissions can be hand-drawn or created with digital-art software and must be original. Any stock graphics will be denied.<\/p>\n<p>Contest participants can enter more than one design.<\/p>\n<p>The contest ends at 5 p.m. May 3.
