(The Journal file)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>The Mancos Public Library has further eased its coronavirus rules, returning to an operation much like it was before the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>As of June 1, masks will be recommended for unvaccinated visitors, and there will be no voluntary symptom information questionnaire or temperature check at the front door.<\/p>\n<p>Normal library hours have resumed, and the community meeting room is available for public use as well.<\/p>\n<p>The library fully closed at the start of the pandemic and opened up roughly a month later to provide curbside service to patrons. An online catalog was available to browse through and new books were displayed at the building\u2019s front window.<\/p>\n<p>The library fully reopened in March for limited hours. Saturdays were for curbside pickup only. A voluntary questionnaire and temperature check were instituted and masks were required.<\/p>\n<p>After recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and state authorities, the library\u2019s COVID rules were largely lifted beginning Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Mancos Public Library Executive Director Lee Hallberg told <em id=\"emphasis-e296625b41fac998194bc3b2c8284bee\">The Journal<\/em> that policies and services like curbside pickup were useful during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been in constant flux since the beginning of the pandemic,\u201d Hallberg said.  \u201cIt definitely wasn\u2019t the traffic that we see during normal times, but I think we were able to accommodate most folks for what they needed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The library will likely not host in-person programming such as talks or presentations until the fall.<\/p>\n<p>Social distancing will continue to be recommended and spaces will be regularly sanitized.<\/p>\n<p>The library will now be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
