Never for one minute did it cross my mind that it might be our house,\u201d Foster said. \u201cI rounded a corner and, boom, there were fire trucks in front of the house. I didn\u2019t realize it was our house until I was right up on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No one was home when the fire began around 7:10 p.m. The blaze remains under investigation by the Los Pinos Fire Protection District.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image naviga-align-left alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=6943f24d-e8d5-5a08-9801-52c74f8ffc3e&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"750\" height=\"1334\" alt=\"Carrie Foster, housemate Robin Morris and Morris' two sons, Corey, 11, and Kolton, 7, weren't at home when their house went up in flames on July 10. (Courtesy of Carrie Foster)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>The most serious loss in the fire was the Morris family\u2019s 4-month-old puppy, Shiloh, who died in the garage.<\/p>\n<p>Morris said: \u201cHe was just a puppy. He was the sweetest thing, a purebred Lab. He was just a baby so we think he got scared and cowered and hid instead of trying to find a way out of the garage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A neighbor opened a gate to let the Morris\u2019 2-year-old dog, Oliver, out.<\/p>\n<p>Oliver hung out around the perimeter of the fire, scared to come to anyone until Robin Morris arrived at the house the night it burned.<\/p>\n<p>The Morrises had been in Farmington celebrating a belated birthday party for Kolton when the fire broke out.<\/p>\n<p>The neighbor who let Oliver out also sprayed water on one of the home\u2019s exterior walls. (Courtesy)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/donate\/171553484958495\/\" id=\"link-22e167da2d529613d9b0bda3d1620ae5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook fundraiser<\/a>, called \u201cRobins house fire total loss,\u201d has been set up to help Morris and her boys.<\/p>\n<p>As of Sunday, the page had raised $5,425 with a stated goal of $8,000.<\/p>\n<p>Foster\u2019s daughter, Kelsey Foster, has organized a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/help-carrie-rebuild\" id=\"link-f0372e741fc974410dec7d35e7c9e58b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe page for her mother called Help Carrie Rebuild<\/a>. It has raised $7,235 as of Sunday with a goal set at $5,555.<\/p>\n<p>A religious journaler, Foster said her greatest loss was her personal journals dating back to the 1970s.
