(Courtesy Colorado Parks and Wildlife)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>CPW is promoting an education video series about mountains lions on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2AF1T8UFTck\" id=\"link-378a2a630fca63d157d7f46403696f50\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube page<\/a>. In Colorado, population estimates range from 3,000 to 7,000 lions.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the CPW approved the <a href=\"https:\/\/cpw.state.co.us\/Documents\/Hunting\/MountainLion\/DAU\/WestSlopeMtLionPlan.pdf\" id=\"link-dc6262f726c8d337e6fc9325aa003d31\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">West Slope Mountain Lion Management Plan.<\/a> This plan revises and consolidates 13 older lion management plans that cover the western part of Colorado into one overarching plan that manages lions at a larger scale.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=40373a7e-1386-5ece-8625-b436a8683910&#038;function=cover&#038;type=preview&#038;source=false&#038;width=2000\" width=\"648\" height=\"484\" alt=\"This juvenile mountain lion was safely relocated to a more remote area after it was found sitting along the Animas River Trail in Durango.
