They will help link students to the virtual world through February.<\/p>\n<p>After that point, the district hopes to extend the program to enable remote internet access through the end of the school year with other federal grants, she said.<\/p>\n<p>Parents just need to fill out a form, and can pick up hot spots at the district office or at their child\u2019s school, she said.<\/p>\n<p>The district provided more than one hot spot to families with multiple students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have heard nothing but positive feedback from parents,\u201d Sauk said.<\/p>\n<p>She said the district was able to solve connectivity issues in areas that \u201cin the past historically were not getting service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RE-1 partnered with T-Mobile to do this, as the wireless network operator had already embarked on its own initiative: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.t-mobile.com\/business\/education\/project-10-million\" id=\"link-893415e94e5b9de1abefe272d3f9b65a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Project 10Million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe piggybacked off of their 10Million project,\u201d Sauk said.<\/p>\n<p>T-mobile\u2019s project provided hot spots and internet access for \u201chomework help,\u201d supplying a certain amount of data. The district covered the remaining costs to provide unlimited access for families, she said.<\/p>\n<p>The district received two disbursements through the program.
