Team Jumbo Visma\u2019s Primoz Roglic won the 11th stage of the Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a on Wednesday, scoring his second stage win of the competition. Sepp Kuss finished 15th on the day and was in ninth-place overall in the general classification. Kuss then finished 25th on Thursday and 23rd Friday to maintain his ninth-place overall.<\/p>\n

Roglic\u2019s win came a day after he lost the red leader\u2019s jersey due to crashing and slipped to third place.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Roglic was involved in another crash with several other cyclists. He was uninjured in the crash and was able to get up and finish in 12th place to maintain his third-place standing. Roglic then crossed with Kuss on Friday, placing 25th on a flat stage to hold on to his third-place standing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a quite calm day for our guys,\u201d sports director Grischa Niermann said in the team\u2019s race report on Friday. \u201cWe got a wake-up call when some Belgians tried to attack, but at that moment we were all well positioned. Tomorrow will be a tough day. A tough climb halfway and a long, tough uphill finish. We\u2019ll see what will happen there. I think we are in good shape.\u201d<\/p>\n

The race\u2019s leader, Odd Christian Eiking, was 1 minute, 56 second ahead of Roglic after the 13th stage and 5:03 ahead of Kuss. Eikeng pedaled the first 13 stages in 50 hours, 31 minutes and 52 seconds.<\/p>\n

Kuss is also in ninth-place in the climber standings with 9 points.<\/p>\n

In the team race, Jumbo Visma was in fifth after the 13th stage while Quinn Simmons\u2019 team, Trek Segafredo, was right behind them in sixth.<\/p>\n

Simmons was in 160th overall and 45th in the youth category.<\/p>\n
