A 53-year-old woman died from COVID-19 in San Juan County, the county\u2019s first recorded death attributed to the disease, the San Juan County Office of Emergency Management said Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The woman was a part-time resident, the county agency said.<\/p>\n

The number of cases in San Juan County has decreased. According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment<\/a>, the county was at Level Yellow, with between 100 and 300 cases of the coronavirus per 100,000 people.<\/p>\n

La Plata, Montezuma, Dolores and Archuleta counties all fell into the yellow level. San Miguel County was at Level Orange, with a one-week cumulative incidence rate of 465 reported cases per 100,000 people.<\/p>\n

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a> classifies all six counties as having high community transmission rates.<\/p>\n

As of Wednesday, San Juan County had 86 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data from the CDPHE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The county had a high rate of transmission and a 5.88% virus positivity rate. Almost 91% of the eligible population is fully vaccinated, according to the CDC.<\/p>\n

La Plata County <\/strong><\/p>\n

The CDC reported 85 cases over the past seven days in La Plata County, with a 4.55% positivity rate and 69.3% vaccination rate.<\/p>\n

There have been 4,737 total cases and 46 total deaths since the pandemic began, according to CDPHE data.<\/p>\n

That data showed one death in the past seven days.<\/p>\n

Montezuma County <\/strong><\/p>\n

As of Wednesday, seven-day data showed 57 cases, with a 6.45% of positivity rate \u2013 down from 8.51% last week, according to the CDC. No deaths were reported this week, and 59.3% of the eligible population was fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n

State data showed that there have been 2,391 total cases in the county, and 29 deaths \u2013 none in the past week.<\/p>\n

Last week, the county announced that it would no longer post COVID-19 case updates to its website and Facebook page.<\/p>\n

Dolores County <\/strong><\/p>\n

Dolores County has 40.3% of its eligible population fully vaccinated, CDC data showed.<\/p>\n

CDPHE data reflected 150 total cases in the county \u2013 three new in the past week \u2013 and one death, but no deaths in the past week.<\/p>\n

San Miguel County <\/strong><\/p>\n

In San Miguel County, 41 cases were recorded in the past seven days. The county had a 3.35% virus positivity rate, and 79.5% of eligible residents were fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n

Three people have died in the past week, and 1,039 cases have been recorded since the pandemic began.<\/p>\n

Archuleta County <\/strong><\/p>\n

Twenty-four cases, zero deaths and a 9.22% positivity rate were recorded in the past seven days, according to CDC data. The county\u2019s transmission rate was rated high, and 54.9% of the eligible population was fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n
