A female pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car Wednesday morning at East Main Street and Beech Street in Cortez.<\/p>\n

Patrol Sgt. Glenn Edwards responded to the scene at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday, and reported that he observed Delphine Blueyes lying on the inside lane of the street west of the east crosswalk.<\/p>\n

She was conscious but not very responsive, according to his report.<\/p>\n

She was transported to the emergency room, where she was found to have multiple hip fractures, a sacral fracture, right orbital wall fracture and cuts on her head.<\/p>\n

The Journal <\/em> was unable to obtain additional medical information regarding Blueyes\u2019 current condition Friday.<\/p>\n

The Cortez Police Department\u2019s incident report did not specify how fast the driver, identified as Bruce Hulligan, was going. He was in a white Nissan Altima with an Arizona license plate.<\/p>\n

Hulligan was cited for careless driving causing bodily injury.<\/p>\n

The driver also checked out by medics, but was not transported to a hospital.<\/p>\n

A witness reportedly saw Blueyes walking the crosswalk when she was struck.<\/p>\n
