(Courtesy of San Miguel County Sheriff\u2019s Office)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy San Miguel Sheriff<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>A lost hiker on El Diente Peak was rescued by helicopter Monday, according to a San Miguel County Sheriff\u2019s Office post on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Search teams from Dolores and San Miguel counties coordinated the effort to aid a 35-year-old Durango man who had become stranded on a cliff on the south-facing slope at 13,600 feet elevation.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image naviga-align-left alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=1d17160e-e21a-52f7-819f-9705b6bc1dfd&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"720\" height=\"874\" alt=\"A Colorado Highland Helicopter approaches a Durango hiker who was stranded on a cliff face on El Diente Peak. He was advised of a rescue plan.<\/p>\n<p>The man was well prepared for the backcountry and spent the night on the mountainside.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado Highland Helicopters flew to the area Monday morning.
