The Durango High School and Montezuma-Cortez volleyball game that was originally scheduled for Tuesday night has been postponed until Oct. 25.<\/p>\n

DHS head coach Kelley Rifilato said the game had to be postponed because COVID-19 impacted the Montezuma-Cortez High School team. She said they found out midday Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Montezuma-Cortez Superintendent Risha VanderWey and Assistant Superintendent Lis Richard have not responded to phone calls and emails requesting comment.<\/p>\n

DHS will play Bayfield on Oct. 26, the night after the M-CHS makeup game on Oct. 25. The previously scheduled Bayfield game had been postponed because of the number of COVID-19 cases in the Bayfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Demons (6-5, 4-2 4A\/5A Southwestern) are still scheduled to play at Battle Mountain (3-8, 1-6 4A Western Slope) on Friday.<\/p>\n

After 11 games, Mason Rowland leads the DHS attack with 119 kills, followed by Leah Wolf (74), Riley Engle (57) and Sarah Somrak (53).<\/p>\n

Wolf has served a team-high 26 aces, followed by Rowland (24), Eva Stewart (16) and Brooklyn Messier (13).<\/p>\n

Defensively, Engle leads DHS with 46 blocks, including 14 solo blocks. Somrak has 38 blocks, including 15 solo.<\/p>\n

Rowland has dug the ball 130 times for DHS, followed by Messier with 128 digs and Wolf with 111.<\/p>\n

Stewart leads the team with 180 assists while Rowland is next with 141.<\/p>\n
