Pictured are Gena Sherwood and Kristie Whited, who brought their festive creations to the crafting market.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Kala Parkinson<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>More than 50 artists, makers and creators congregated at the Dolores Community Center Saturday, putting their passions on display at various booths for this year\u2019s holiday craft bazaar.<\/p>\n<p>Vendors were elated to see the return of the event, which was canceled last year because of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Behind each booth was a different backstory, and artists were happy to share. Many of them are carrying on family traditions or passed-down crafts woven through generations. Melva Terry (left) and Darla Sanders (right) brought sewn pieces to this year\u2019s holiday craft bazaar.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Kala Parkinson<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>For instance, Darla Sanders \u2013 alongside Melva Terry \u2013 presented sewn artwork in the form of bowl cozies, potato bags and quilts.<\/p>\n<p>They also auctioned off a quilt, donated by Cindy Eiland and stitched together by Sewn by SO in Cortez. The ticket entry proceeds went to the Disabled American Veterans.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, U.S. Rep. Rodney serves on the Galloping Goose Historical\u2019s Society\u2019s board, and Donna manages the gift shop.<\/p>\n<p>The Guggenheim\u2019 found a new sense of peace in Dolores \u2013 a departure from a more corporate lifestyle farther West.
