The police department produced a video and made yard signs warning drivers to slow down.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Eight businesses were robbed and three vehicles were stolen in Farmington within the past few days, said Nicole Brown, spokeswoman for the Farmington Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>The times and places of the burglaries was not clear from a press release, and Brown was not immediately available Saturday afternoon for clarification.<\/p>\n<p>About 11:28 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn at 2580 E. Main St., the release said.<\/p>\n<p>The stolen vehicle, a silver 2017 Hyundai Sonata, was identified in security camera footage from \u201cseveral\u201d ransacked businesses that night.<\/p>\n<p>Suspects wearing gray hooded sweatshirts broke windows and glass doors to enter the businesses, according to security footage.<\/p>\n<p>The press release did not specify how many subjects were recorded breaking into the businesses.<\/p>\n<p>About 5:50 a.m., Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 3901 Beckland Drive became the last stop in the repeated burglaries that night, the release said.<\/p>\n<p>The San Juan County Sheriff\u2019s Office later recovered the Hyundai Sonata, the release said.<\/p>\n<p>The San Juan County Sheriff\u2019s Office was closed Saturday when<em id=\"emphasis-400b73ee325152703abe2016d40edc12\"> The Journal<\/em> called for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Two other vehicles in the \u201cstring of crimes\u201d remain missing: a 2021 blue Dodge Challenger with New Mexico license plate RJT448, and a maroon Kia Optima with Illinois license plate FP138042.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Farmington Police Department asked the public to be alert to any suspicious activity at businesses after hours and report it immediately.
