Trustees Janice Bryan, Ed Hallam and Cindy Simpson also remain in their positions for two years.<\/p>\n<p>Brooks did not respond to <em id=\"emphasis-7b51f40e3c09186df60e5cdda2fab8b0\">The Journal\u2019s <\/em>request for comment Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Before retiring in 2014, he worked for a physician radiology group for 17 years, the past 10 managing business and finance, and has served on various local and regional boards.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Betsy Harrison<\/div>\n<p>Harrison is running for the same reason she did four years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI care a lot about community, and I thought I could have some sort of impact to make it a friendly, inclusive town,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Harrison is retired, and channels much of her time into the <a href=\"https:\/\/mancoscommonpress.org\/\" id=\"link-d90c0b4fbddbe92e21c7bf7f8d9ed543\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mancos Common Press <\/a>and the board of the Mancos Creative District and Mount Lookout Grange.<\/p>\n<p>Mancos is moving in a \u201cvery healthy\u201d direction, she said.<\/p>\n<p>That includes government and its collaboration with organizations like the Mancos Valley Chamber of Commerce and Mancos Creative District, she said.<\/p>\n<p>Harrison would like to cater to the needs of youths.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of new, young people in town and they\u2019re getting involved,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Nicholas Manning<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI feel a lot of responsibility and care for the town and I want to see it grow,\u201d Manning said.<\/p>\n<p>Manning is the CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newlifepropertymanagement.us\/\" id=\"link-796dd781cfab7f9ec120611a2987887c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Life Property Management<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He doesn\u2019t want to resist growth already occurring, he said, but he wants to embrace and enhance it in a way that is \u201cequitable for everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can see it changing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Among his goals for the town are attracting more young people, respecting the natural environment with consideration for factors like water and sewage plants, adequately planning and allocating funds and facilitating an overall \u201cvibrant\u201d community.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Richard Tokar<\/div>\n<p>Tokar said he\u2019s \u201cjust trying to help the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s a supervisor for Colorado Department of Transportation and has been with CDOT for more than 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>His goals for the future of the town are growth, more people, affordable housing and better streets, he told <em id=\"emphasis-52c9e2bde6f8343b0649528f595867ab\">The Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Board of Trustees meets at Mancos Town Hall at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
