The board must wait 14 days after the special meeting before offering a contract.<\/p>\n<p>An announcement will be made March 1 at the board\u2019s work session.<\/p>\n<p>The process is being undertaken after former Superintendent Risha VanderWey resigned in January, after serving nearly seven months on the job.<\/p>\n<p>Executive directors Kyle Archibeque, Cynthia Eldredge and Jim Parr were officially appointed to fulfill VanderWey\u2019s duties until an interim superintendent is selected. Parr was chosen as the district\u2019s point of contact.<\/p>\n<p>Directors met in an executive session to discuss a \u201cpersonnel matter\u201d for about half an hour at the beginning of the meeting Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The board will host a special meeting Friday to formally accept VanderWey\u2019s resignation.<\/p>\n<p>While VanderWey has not publicly addressed her resignation, a letter from the school board cited \u201cphilosophical differences of short and long-term goals\u201d between the board and VanderWey.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Other meeting takeaways:<\/div>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-x-im-unordered-list\">The board expressed a desire to become more transparent. Board packets will now be published online so the community may follow along during meetings. Information the district deems private will be excluded. Additionally, the district has received a large number of Colorado open records requests, said Cynthia Eldredge, executive director of human resources. There is now a<a href=\"https:\/\/campussuite-storage.s3.amazonaws.com\/prod\/1558643\/58fee358-3e9d-11e9-a230-125a10eb9994\/2371166\/c2a140f0-8547-11ec-9034-0a5c0fc2f6a5\/file\/KDB.E%20Public%20Request%20for%20Open%20Records%20Form.1.pdf\" id=\"link-1c8b1c79f13adce3f02bae3fd386798a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> public records request form <\/a>on the district\u2019s website. Kyle Archibeque, executive director of finance, reviewed allowable uses of incoming ESSER III funds established in a Congress bill. The district will receive $9,751,290. At least 20% of the funds must be spent to remedy learning loss \u201cthrough the implementation of evidence-based intervention.\u201d The remaining 80% can be used for other needs stemming from the pandemic. The grant cannot be used for salary increases or construction. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/MCSDRE1ESSERIII\" id=\"link-eba71a733b5ff65f8277ff719799982e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A family survey<\/a> has received 264 responses as of noon Tuesday. The board will meet at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. for the remainder of the school year.
