(Courtesy City of Cortez)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy City of Cortez<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Come June, Cortez residents will be able to secure their caffeine fix at a new drive-thru coffee shop taking root on Main Street.<\/p>\n<p>Located at 1204 E. Main St., Longmont-based chain Ziggi\u2019s Coffee will soon serve coffee, tea, smoothies, Italian sodas and cafe-style fare.<\/p>\n<p>The 815-square-foot shop will feature a drive-thru, walk-up window, 11 parking spaces and a small outdoor seating area.<\/p>\n<p>Cortez business Image Builders LLC is heading the local franchise, with local family members Leah and Kirby Boyd and Kyan and Shalun Maloney overseeing the venture.<\/p>\n<p>Ziggi\u2019s will serve java and joe nearly every day of the year \u2013 even Thanksgiving (but not Christmas.)<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The business will hire 16 to 20 employees, Leah Boyd said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re hoping to have a fun, energetic environment for our employees,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Construction on the new wood-framed building broke ground Feb. 14, and will live at the 21,073-square-foot lot that previously hosted the Sunshine Motors car dealership.<\/p>\n<p>The family acquired the franchise in May and proposed the idea to the city in September. The city approved the project in October.<\/p>\n<p>Ziggi\u2019s Coffee first opened in Longmont in 2004, and now has 48 locations in 12 states, with a store as far east as Michigan and stretching to California in the West.
