A Durango man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday at a motel in north Durango, according to law enforcement.<\/p>\n

The shooting death was reported at 2:18 p.m. at Spanish Trails Inn & Suites, 3141 Main Ave., said Cmdr. Ray Shupe, spokesman with the Durango Police Department.<\/p>\n

A handgun was recovered at the scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything that we have is pointing to self-inflicted gunshot wound,\u201d Shupe said about 6 p.m. Monday.<\/p>\n

The victim was identified as Zephin Martinez, 27, of Durango.<\/p>\n

The man\u2019s brother was at the scene.<\/p>\n

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.<\/p>\n
