A film about Sheri will premiere at the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>One of North America\u2019s oldest film festivals, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mountainfilm.org\/festival\/films\" id=\"link-bf0b7274717693df13288d2575c7356e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mountainfilm<\/a> in Telluride, has announced the full lineup for its 44th edition May 26-30.<\/p>\n<p>It is the first full in-person festival since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees can look forward to 128 films, including 31 features and 97 shorts with themes around the environment, social justice and outdoor adventure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be showcasing over 80 international, U.S. and Colorado premieres, including a strong lineup of films featuring underrepresented voices,\u201d said Mountainfilm Festival Director Suzan Beraza.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s lineup will also highlight local Colorado stories, including the world premiere of \u201cSheri,\u201d featuring Sheri Tingy, an adventurer and designer who revolutionized the outdoor industry with the founding of Colorado\u2019s Alpacka rafts in Mancos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Holly\u201d examines gentrification and violence in downtown Denver\u2019s Holly neighborhood. \u201cAnonymous Sister,\u201d is an intimate portrayal of the opioid epidemic from within a tight-knit Denver family. The world premiere of \u201cFight or Flight\u201d chronicles the journey of the only female pilot employed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. And \u201cJacket\u201d transports viewers to a sheep ranch in Moffat County, revealing age-old traditions during lambing season.<\/p>\n<p>Of the films there are 23 world premieres, including feature film \u201cSurf Nation.\u201d The film takes a deep dive into the world of competitive Chinese sport as the country trains and grooms up-and-coming surfers to make their bid for the first Olympic surf competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChasing\u201d chronicles the epic adventure of a rowing team\u2019s race across the Atlantic. \u201cThe Neighborhood Storyteller\u201d relates the touching story of an impromptu classroom for girls in a Syrian refugee camp.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the festival\u2019s film programming, Mountainfilm\u2019s Coffee Talks will be returning, plus the newly designed Minds Moving Mountains Speaker Series and DocTalks.
