The performing arts have always been a part of her family.<\/p>\n

Now, Montezuma-Cortez High School graduate Savannah Story will continue her love of theater at the collegiate level, with a scholarship to attend Oklahoma City University to be a part of the School of Theater.<\/p>\n

Story capped her time at M-CHS with a stellar performance as the title character in the theater department\u2019s production of \u201cMary Poppins.\u201d Under the guidance of drama teacher Nicholaus Sandner, Story and the M-CHS theater department made a triumphant return to live performance, entertaining the community with lighthearted performances, as well as intense dramas over the duration of her high school acting career.<\/p>\n

Story\u2019s pursuit of collegiate acting follows in the footsteps of her older sister Liv Story, who just wrapped up her collegiate degree from OCU.<\/p>\n

The M-CHS graduate carried an honor roll distinction to go along with her theatrical prowess, and enjoyed success in both the scripted and unscripted components of her career. In the Colorado State Thespian Conference, Story and a number of her classmates won the Critic\u2019s Choice award for their performance.<\/p>\n

Story\u2019s leadership role in the Impulsive Improvisers \u2013 an improvisational performing arts troupe \u2013 has helped keep the program strong and the theater department helps to empower creativity and teamwork among its students.<\/p>\n

Oklahoma City University boasts one of the top theater programs in the region, with options for bachelor\u2019s degrees in acting, theater, and design and production.<\/p>\n

Just as Story has learned from her sister and the many M-CHS performers before her, so too will a new collection of performing artists build off of her legacy for many years to come.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
