Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Thirty-one swimmers from the Durango Swim Club tested their endurance in the Narrow Horse mile swim May 29.<\/p>\n<p>After 1,500 meters racing in the pool, Jake Sandau, 14, finished with the fastest freestyle time. Sandau finished first in 19 minutes, 13.63 seconds, and was the only competitor to break 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Wyatt Hawley, 14, finished second in the men\u2019s 19-and-under heat in 20:39.07, followed by Luke Swenk, 15, (21:21.33), Denny Woods, 13, (21:25.41) and Bear Yount, 7, (43:16.56).<\/p>\n<p>Erin Knight, 17, was the women\u2019s champ and had the second fast time overall. Knight won the women\u2019s 19-and-under race in 20:14.53.<\/p>\n<p>Following Knight were Victoria Duran, 19, in 21:07.45, Linzie Bidart, 12, (22:36:22), Raina Dixon, 12, (22:36.91), Nora Miller, 13, (23:29.17) and Ava McKown, 11, (24:13.79).<\/p>\n<p>Kayla Binggeli (23:00.98) bested Maggie Yount (25:15.04) in the women\u2019s 30-39 race.<\/p>\n<p>Heather Hoechst won the women\u2019s 40-49 race in 21:3.85, followed by Tina Martinez (26:02.75) and Melissa Liebling (28:13.41).<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Blankenship crossed first in the women\u2019s 50-59 race in 31:26.32, and Paula Miller took second in 34:22.55.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s 60-69 division, Andrea Parker touched first in 25:40.46, followed by Marjorie Brinton (28:05.19) and Lin Reading (42:14.17).<\/p>\n<p>Steve Foster won the men\u2019s 40-49 race in 21:20.60. Trevor Woods (28:48.81) finished second, and Dave Ottman crossed (29:15.34) third.<\/p>\n<p>Daudi Barnes won the men\u2019s 50-59 race in 22:31.02, followed by Rob Downing (23:54.59) and L.G.
