(Courtesy Dolores County Emergency Management Office)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Buster Fire, 10 miles north of McPhee Reservoir, has been extinguished.<\/p>\n<p>The wildfire in the San Juan National Forest started Thursday. Friday, federal and local fire crews stopped it at 3 acres and reached 50% containment.<\/p>\n<p>Timely rain Saturday helped put out the fire, said Keith Keesling, Dolores County emergency manager.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCrew are mopping up and received help from above,\u201d he said in a Facebook post. A crew verified Sunday that it had been extinguished.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday, a federal Type 2 wildfire crew, including two Type 1 heavy helicopters, responded to the blaze. Cortez Fire Protection District also sent a crew and brush truck.<\/p>\n<p>In all, about 40 personnel worked the blaze, said San Juan National Forest Fire Management Officer Tracy Milakovic.<\/p>\n<p>Ponds supplied water for the helicopters and fire trucks, which included a 6,000-gallon tanker.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the fire was being investigated Monday by the San Juan National Forest.<\/p>\n<p>No structure was damaged or threatened, Keesling said.<\/p>\n<p>The fire burned southeast of Narraguinnep Canyon east of County Road 27\/Forest Road 414.
