(Star Racing Yamaha)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Eli Tomac of Cortez on Saturday finished second to Chase Sexton in both motos at the Unadilla National in New Berlin, New York, and surrendered the standings lead to the Honda rider with three races to go in the season.<\/p>\n<p>Tomac now trails Sexton by one point in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross standings, 409 to 408.<\/p>\n<p>Jason Anderson of Kawasaki finished third in both motos Saturday, and is third in the standings, with 325 points. Ken Roczen of Honda is fourth, at 304 points, and Tomac teammate on Star Racing Yamaha, Christian Craig, is fifth, with 273 points.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Moto 1: The Chase is on<\/div>\n<p>Roczen went to the lead early in the first moto at Unadilla, with defending champion Dylan Ferrandis in second place after one lap. Tomac was third and was followed by Anderson in fourth, Aaron Plessigner in fifth, and Sexton in sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Tomac took over second place in Lap 2, then passed Roczen for the lead in Lap 4.<\/p>\n<p>Sexton, meanwhile, began his march to the front of the pack, passing Anderson in Lap 7 and Roczen in Lap 8 to tuck into second place behind Tomac.<\/p>\n<p>Sexton went to the lead in Lap 10 and quickly pulled away from Tomac to win by 12.858 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson was third, 19.010 seconds back, and Ferrandis and Roczen filled out the top five.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Moto 2: Sexton seals the deal<\/div>\n<p>Tomac broke out of the gates into the lead in the second moto, with Plessinger, Sexton and Barcia in tow after the first lap.<\/p>\n<p>But Sexton quickly challenged Tomac, closing the gap to the lead to 0.324 second in the fourth lap.<\/p>\n<p>Sexton moved into the lead in Lap 5, and stretched out a 10.633-second lead in the 11th lap and a 15.852-second victory in the 15th lap.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson again was third, and was followed by Plessinger and Roczen.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">What\u2019s next<\/div>\n<p>The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship next goes to Budds Creek National in Mechanicsville, Maryland, on Aug. 20 for the 10th of 12 rounds in the series.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-scoreboard\">\n<p>2022 AMA Motocross standings1.
