(Journal file)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe will vote today for tribal chairman and three tribal council seats, including the seat at White Mesa.<\/p>\n<p>Terms are up for Chairman Manuel Heart, Vice Chairman Archie House Jr., Councilman Darwin Whiteman Jr. and Councilman Malcolm Lehi, who represents White Mesa, Utah.<\/p>\n<p>Six candidates are running for tribal chairman. They are Angelita Berry, Harold Cuthair, Manuel Heart, Regina Lopez-Whiteskunk, Selwyn Whiteskunk and Davis Wing.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen candidates are running for the two open council seats representing the Colorado reservation, based in Towaoc.<\/p>\n<p>They are Mark Wing, Archie House Jr., Kenneth Bancroft, Quinton Jacket, Helen Munoz, Priscilla Blackhawk, Darwin Whiteman Jr., Myron Cuthair, Leland Collins Sr., Conrad Jacket, Adrian Laner Sr., Colleen Cuthair-Root, Prisllena Nightstar and Jacalyn Colorow.<\/p>\n<p>The two candidates for council seat representing the White Mesa tribal community are Malcolm Lehi and Suzette Morris.<\/p>\n<p>Votiung is open to all enrolled tribal members ages 18 and up. Voters must have a current ID at the polling place. Polling places are at the Community Center in Towaoc and in White Mesa. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Results are tallied at the Towaoc Community Center and the public is invited to view the process.
