(Courtesy of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>A 34 year-old Ignacio man is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder involving the death of 28-year-old Raeanna \u201cNikki\u201d Burch-Woodhull, according to a news release issued Sunday by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was identified during the course of an investigation by the CBI.<\/p>\n<p>Luis Raul Valenzuela was taken into custody on Saturday. Investigators believe Burch-Woodhull knew Valenzuela but have not released more information about the investigation or a possible motive. Burch-Woodhull had multiple tattoos with the name \u201cLuis\u201d on her face.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=3da5fefd-4371-56e4-b7e7-1970518fe6f6&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"810\" height=\"627\" alt=\"(Courtesy of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation)\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">(Courtesy of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Law enforcement located Burch-Woodhull\u2019s body on Saturday near U.S. Highway 550 and County Road 310 south of Durango.<\/p>\n<p>A preliminary identification of the remains was made by La Plata County Coroner Jann Smith.<\/p>\n<p>The CBI is working with the Ignacio Police Department, the 6th Judicial District Attorney\u2019s Office and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Office of the Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n<p>A CBI Missing Endangered Alert was issued Saturday at the request of the Ignacio Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>According to the alert, Burch-Woodhull was last seen about 2 a.m. Nov. 27 in the 600 block of Goddard Avenue in Ignacio.
