(David Edward Albright\/Durango Herald)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Farmington Police Chief Steve Hebbe announced Tuesday in a news release that a 17-year-old boy from Arizona was arrested Monday on charges of making \u201cbomb scares and shooting threats\u201d targeting Farmington High School.<\/p>\n<p>The youth, from Arizona, was arrested at his mother\u2019s home in Farmington and taken to the San Juan Juvenile Detention Center. The youth is not enrolled at the school.<\/p>\n<p>The threat, posted on Instagram, pictured what appeared to be a box of .22-caliber ammunition and stated, \u201cDon\u2019t come to school on Tuesday. Gotta surprise for all the teachers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the news release, the boy was being home-schooled in Arizona and was visiting the area. During its investigation, the Farmington Police Department learned that similar threats were being investigated by the Gallup Police Department and coordinated its investigation with Gallup\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=40aeb070-b5b5-5940-b24d-8cea19919e3c&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\" alt=\"The entrance to San Juan County Juvenile Detention Center. (David Edward Albright\/Durango Herald)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>No viable threat or weapons were found during the arrest, but FPD said it takes all threats of violence \u201cvery seriously and thoroughly investigates\u201d each one. \u201cMaking a threat of any kind, whether in person or online, has serious consequences,\u201d the news release said.<\/p>\n<p>A separate threat to Hermosa Middle School remained under investigation on Tuesday. The threat, made on Snapchat, said, \u201cWatch out, Hermosa\u201d and pictured a handgun on a black bandanna.
