The San Juan County Sheriff\u2019s Office is investigating a double homicide at a salvage year west of Farmington.<\/p>\n

San Juan County deputies were dispatched to the Highway 64 Auto Salvage, 4551 U.S. Highway 64, at 8:59 p.m. April 5 after two bodies were found.<\/p>\n

When deputies arrived on scene, it was apparent that the two men died as a result of a homicide. They were identified as Anthony McCants, 26, and Candrick Begay, 31.<\/p>\n

At 4 p.m., McCants and Begay were assigned to pull parts out in the yard. Later that evening, employees began to look for the two when family members called concerned that they had not heard from them. Employees began to search the large area and located them on the property.<\/p>\n

San Juan County Assessor records lists the property as almost 10 acres.<\/p>\n

SJCSO Detective Division is actively investigating this case and asks that anyone with any information about the incident call the Detective\u2019s Tip Line at (505) 333-7878.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to extend our condolences to both families and are committed to bringing the person(s) involved to justice,\u201d Kristi Hughes, public information manager for the sheriff\u2019s office said in a news release.<\/p>\n

Hughes also stated, \u201cWe are aware that the decedent in Farmington Police Department\u2019s officer-involved shooting worked for Highway 64 Auto Salvage, and we believe that they are completely separate events with no correlation to one another.\u201d<\/p>\n
