The road was closed in both directions.<\/p>\n<p>Mercy Hospital\u2019s Flight For Life helicopter was dispatched to the scene, according to FlightAware, a website that tracks aircraft movements around the world.<\/p>\n<p>According to early scanner reports, the crash was a head-on involving a Kia Spectra and a white vehicle. The scanner chatter reported a fatality and several people with injuries. Children were also reportedly in one of the vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The State Patrol confirmed it was a head-on crash near the airport. Capt. John Trentini asked drivers to avoid the area and take alternative routes to get around the closure.<\/p>\n<p>No further information was immediately available.<\/p>\n<p><em id=\"emphasis-05b23a53cfb3d4b0d27f47dfa9fd92b3\">This is a developing story.
