(David Edward Albright\/Durango Herald)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>In honor of Earth Month, Suburban Propane employees and Farmington City Councilors Sean Sharer, District 2, and Janis Jakino, District 4, joined forces Thursday to clean up the beaches and park areas of Lake Farmington.<\/p>\n<p>Cody Greenwood, manager of Suburban Propane in Farmington, said he was helping as part of the company\u2019s Go-Green initiative. \u201cWe go out and try to make a difference every year at this time,\u201d he said. Greenwood\u2019s daughter also participated in the cleanup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really clean out here \u2013 it\u2019s beautiful \u2013 and we want to try to keep it that way. It brings a lot of happiness to a lot of people, so we thought we\u2019d help Mother Earth and return the favor,\u201d Greenwood said.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image naviga-align-left alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=a5356df4-5bac-57a1-9430-d44f14b067d0&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"2000\" height=\"2667\" alt=\"Tammy Garlington praised how well lake users have been cleaning up after their activities. (David Edward Albright\/Durango Herald)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>\u201cWe\u2019re just trying to get Farmington Lake clean but, surprisingly, it\u2019s pretty clean,\u201d said Tammy Garlington, a customer service adviser for Suburban Propane. \u201cPeople are doing really good at cleaning up after themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lake Farmington cleanup by the employees and city councilors was part of Suburban Propane Partners, L.P.\u2019s national, monthlong celebration of Earth Month.
