The Burro Fest event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 17, in downtown Mancos.<\/p>\n

The burro race will be run on Mesa Street and will start 10 a.m. Artists\u2019 booths will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Grand Avenue. Featured attractions include a burro photo exhibit, a burro kissing booth, children\u2019s activities, adoptable burros, a beer garden and local band Monkberries.<\/p>\n

All events within a two-block area. Attendees looking to find parking are encouraged to arrive early. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs.<\/p>\n

For their safety, dogs will not be allowed.<\/p>\n

Donkeys are often kept with sheep herds to ward off coyotes. A dog looks very much like a coyote and a donkey\u2019s natural instinct would be to attack it. Donkeys will bite, or strike with their front hoofs as well as kick with their hinds.<\/p>\n

This event is run by the Mancos Creative District\u2019s board of directors.<\/p>\n
