Rudosky, the club pro at Conquistador in Cortez, will tee off at 1:26 p.m. Friday.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Steve Lewis\/Durango Herald file photo (2012)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>For the second time in two years at a senior circuit major, Cortez\u2019s Micah Rudosky fired shot-for-shot with some of the all-time greats, battling for a coveted spot in the tournament\u2019s weekend action.<\/p>\n<p>Much like he had in the 2022 Senior PGA Championship, Rudosky played out his final holes on Friday\u2019s cut day at the 2023 U.S. Senior Open within striking distance of a top 60 spot in the 156-player field.<\/p>\n<p>A  back nine rally gave Rudosky a chance at his first ever major cut, but the course at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, posed too much of an obstacle to overcome, as Rudosky finished with a round of 79 on Friday, and a two-day total of +12, three shots short of the cut.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the last group to tee off Friday, Rudosky battled through a difficult front nine, dropping shots on three of the first five holes, and heading to the back nine at +11, two shots behind the projected cut line.<\/p>\n<p>The Conquistador professional responded with a pair of birdies to open the back nine, and place himself back on the right side of the cut line.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, however, it wasn\u2019t meant to be. In spite of playing +2 total on the back nine over both days, Rudosky fell just shy of making it to the championship weekend.<\/p>\n<p>SentryWorld made life difficult for the whole field, with just five players playing the opening 36 holes under par.
