U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert was escorted from a performance of the musical \u201cBeetlejuice\u201d at the Buell Theater in Denver on Sunday, according to her reelection campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!),\u201d Drew Sexton, Boebert\u2019s campaign manager, said in a written statement. \u201cShe appreciates the Buell Theatre\u2019s strict enforcement of their no photos policy and only wishes the Biden Administration could uphold our border laws as thoroughly and vigorously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Theater officials told The Colorado Sun on Monday that two patrons were \u201cescorted from the theater\u201d Sunday, but declined to say who they were, citing privacy concerns.<\/p>\n

Brian Kitts, director of marketing and communications for Denver Arts and Venues, said the patrons were talking loudly, vaping and using cameras. They were warned during an intermission, but the behavior continued into the second act, at which point the two were asked to leave.<\/p>\n

As they were being escorted from the property, the two people said \u201cstuff like \u2018do you know who I am,\u2019 \u2018I am on the board,\u2019 (and) \u2018I will be contacting the mayor,\u2019\u201d according to a security incident report obtained by The Sun from the city through an open records request.<\/p>\n

The incident report said there were \u201cmultiple complaints\u201d about the two people during the performance.<\/p>\n

Heidi Bosk, a spokeswoman for the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, said the organization is \u201ccommitted to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone attending any production.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe house staff at the Buell have the right to and routinely deny entry or remove any patrons not adhering to the guest policies,\u201d she said. \u201cWe were informed that two patrons were not adhering to the policies which eventually led to them being escorted from the theater.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sexton denied that Boebert, a Garfield County Republican who is running for reelection next year in Colorado\u2019s 3rd Congressional District, was vaping during the \u201cBeetlejuice\u201d performance. He noted that The Denver Post, which first reported the \u201cBeetlejuice\u201d incident Tuesday, has called the musical \u201czany,\u201d \u201coutrageous\u201d and a \u201clusty riot.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sun asked Boebert\u2019s congressional office Monday for comment about the disturbance. Anthony Fakhoury, Boebert\u2019s congressional spokesman, said \u201cthere\u2019s no comments from our office regarding anything that occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sexton, however, said Boebert \u201cstrongly encourages everyone to go see \u2018Beetlejuice,\u2019\u201d adding that the musical \u201cfeatures a fantastic cast, tremendous visuals and plenty of loud laughs for attendees.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sexton also said the congresswoman offered theatergoers a \u201cgentle reminder to leave their phones outside of the venue.\u201d<\/p>\n
