\u201cSpending the holidays with family? You could spend part of it with the Nowaks of Buffalo, New York.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the pitch coming out of the Sunflower Theatre as the Sunflower Troupe prepares to launch its December production of the comedy \u201cMiracle on South Division Street.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Nowaks are the are the focus of the play, scheduled for Dec. 8-10 and Dec. 15-17 at the Sunflower Theatre at Main and Market streets in Cortez.<\/p>\n

\u201cMiracle\u201d was the Sunflower Troupe\u2019s first offering back in 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe story could be familiar, but the veteran cast definitely will be,\u201d said a news release from Heidi Brugger.<\/p>\n

The cast includes Kim Welty as the mother, Clara Nowak; Gene Reininger as son Jimmy; Hattie Miller as daughter Beverly; and Silvia Fleitz as daughter Ruth. Miller also directs the play.<\/p>\n

The Sunflower Troupe consists of all volunteers and is a project of KSJD and the Community Radio Project.<\/p>\n

The Nowaks pose a series of seasonal questions: Can a case of mistaken identity be a miracle? Or is it a crisis of faith and identity? Did God single out the Nowaks for special recognition? What will happen to their standing in Buffalo? The audience will follow the family through paths of aggravation and love, and the squabbling could be reminiscent of many family holidays.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not often that anyone can guarantee miracles, but the Sunflower Troupe has one for you this December!\u201d Brugger said in the news release.<\/p>\n

\u201cMiracle on South Division Steet\u201d is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 8, and Saturday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m., with a matinee Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. The play also runs the following weekend \u2013 Dec. 15-17<\/p>\n
