That’s the expectation, but one never knows,” District Attorney Christian Hatfield said when asked about Aprahamian’s upcoming court dates.

Because Aprahamian and his defense waived the preliminary hearings, he will most likely enter pleas on Jan. 11, but he could also go to trial depending on what decisions are made.

“We’re going in with the expectation that there will be a plea, but if not, it’ll be set for trial in all likelihood,” Hatfield said.

In his multiple cases, Aprahamian faces charges that include assault, obstructing governmental operations, aggravated robbery, reckless driving, second-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, reckless endangerment, third-degree assault, harassment, obstructing a peace officer, unlawful possession, DUI and driving a vehicle when license revoked as a habitual offender.

On the night of Sept. 26, Aprahamian reportedly approached Jacob Begley near the Aneth Lodge on East Main Street, brandished a knife and demanded that Begley hand over his wallet.

Begley gave Aprahamian his wallet, phone and tobacco.

After fleeing the scene, Aprahamian allegedly stole an unlocked vehicle. He was identified by police while on the run because of his “unique” hairstyle.

Aprahamian reportedly led police on a chase before crashing the vehicle into a police car on East Empire Street. After his arrest, police found Begley’s possessions, a knife and a bag of meth.

[21,133,168,28,60,29

post-29828","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-cortez","tag-courts","tag-crime","tag-headlines","tag-montezuma-county","tag-newsletter
["GET
