(Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>A Durango restaurant has been closed for a week after sewer pipe was damaged, but aims to be back open in time for this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Rupert\u2019s announced on April 11 via its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RupertsDurango\/\" id=\"link-8ba5bbe9d463491cedb6b3befd4e0c64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook page<\/a> that it closed to repair the sewer pipe, but did not provide further details on how it was damaged. The restaurant, which is located at 810 East College Drive, is slated to reopen on Friday, according to the restaurant\u2019s Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=a7e7ccd2-38d4-5f17-aa1f-b3560fd062d8&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" alt=\"Rupert\u2019s, seen here on Thursday, announced last week via its Facebook page that it closed to repair a damaged sewer pipe. (Matt Hollinshead\/Durango Herald)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p><em id=\"emphasis-57792bdb54b9ca00ef83b19835b98eff\">The Durango Herald<\/em> reached out to Rupert\u2019s owner Tim Nevadomski for additional information, but could not get through to a voicemail box.<\/p>\n<p>Around 1:20 p.m. Thursday two chairs were blocking the front entrance, which had a \u201cclosed\u201d sign on it. No one appeared to be inside the building.<\/p>\n<p>A man named Justin Matherson created a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/help-ruperts-diner-recover-from-damage\" id=\"link-e0ad7609ff41a9dc12e20320c8ad1b73\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe page<\/a> on Thursday to help the restaurant get back on its feet.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the burst sewer pipe, Rupert\u2019s needed to repair its water line and grease trap, according to the GoFundMe page.<\/p>\n<p>The GoFundMe page is raising $25,000 for the restaurant.
