It was a return to a familiar site, Harbor Shores Golf Club, where Rudosky enjoyed his best appearance in his PGA major résumé two years prior.

Overcoming a slow start to his opening round, Rudosky closed out his Thursday round with a flourish to give himself a chance to make the cut on Friday afternoon. Battling well into the back nine, Rudosky couldn’t quite close the gap on the cut line, finishing with a two-day score of +8 (150) on the par-71 course, five shots off the cut.

On Thursday, Rudosky birdied two Harbor Shores’ par-5 holes, part of a three-birdie day, while closing with two birdies in his final three holes to close with an inward 37 on a round of 76 (+5).

Friday’s round included back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth holes to stay even-par on the round and just a couple shots away from the +3 cut line. However, a couple dropped shots on the final nine would leave Rudosky outside the top 70 that made it through to action on Saturday and Sunday.

Consistently among the top club professionals in the country, Rudosky didn’t directly qualify the field this year, but instead had to wait as an alternate to see if he would get his opportunity. Less than a week before the event, Rudosky received confirmation that his name would join a star-studded field battling for the Alfred S. Bourne Trophy.

The PGA major appearance was Rudosky’s seventh overall, with his six Senior PGA major events joining his PGA Championship appearance from 2008.

[38,39,28,37,36

post-27481","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-dolores-high-school","tag-dove-creek-high-school","tag-headlines","tag-mancos-high-school","tag-montezuma-cortez-high-school
["GET
