(Matt Hollinshead\/Durango Herald)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Roxy\u2019s, an Indian Mexican fusion restaurant and electronic dance music venue, recently closed its doors in downtown Durango.<\/p>\n<p>The business, which opened last April after relocating from Boulder, closed after the sudden death of its co-owner, Fletcher Starkey, Roxy\u2019s announced via Facebook on May 22. Roxy\u2019s officially shut its doors on June 2.<\/p>\n<p>Starkey\u2019s partner and co-owner of Roxy\u2019s, Roshani Patel said that Starkey died of complications from pneumonia in May. Afterward, she did not want to continue the business without him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was his idea, his concept. It was our thing together, and I\u2019m not going to do it without him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant is currently selling off bulk inventory, as well as restaurant and kitchen supplies. Bulk curries, chutneys, sauces and other goods have been made available for purchase.<\/p>\n<p>In the roughly 14 months Roxy\u2019s was open in Durango, the restaurant and venue built a strong following in Durango\u2019s electronic dance music community \u2013 something Patel credits Starkey for.<\/p>\n<p>Patel said Roxy\u2019s had great community support and was a place for local DJs to showcase their talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo many people said this is the perfect place for them to come. Girls would feel safe there dancing by themselves.
