He turned himself into police in October after a warrant for his arrest was made public.<\/p>\n<p>Defense lawyer Kent Pace said he was still trying to familiarize himself with the case after taking over from lawyer Richard Jaye in May.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Judge Todd Plewe of the 22nd Judicial District approved Pace\u2019s request for a continuance but said it would be the last extension.<\/p>\n<p>Lopez\u2019s next hearing is Aug. 13 at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Pace was named Lopez\u2019s new attorney in May. In the same hearing, Lopez waived his right to a speedy trial, citing the change in attorney.<\/p>\n<p>His trial had been set for the end of July and beginning of August.<\/p>\n<p>Lopez is being monitored by GPS, according to the court, and will be responsible for  bringing his GPS report to his next hearing, per Plewe\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<p>All other people arrested in connection with the street shooting have been released.
