(Courtesy Dolroes Mountain Quilters)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>The Dolores Mountain Quilters Guild will host their biennial Quilt Show on Aug. 16 and 17 at the Dolores Community Center, 400 Riverside Ave. The event will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Aug. 16 and from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Aug. 17.<\/p>\n<p>More than 100 quilts will be on display, and the public has the opportunity to judge quilts in six different categories. The categories are:<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-x-im-unordered-list\">Bed quilts.Throw\/lap quilts.Youth quilter.Wall quilts.Art quilts.Other.<\/div>\n<p>The event will feature vendors selling fabric, patterns, notions, and sewing machines, and a quilter\u2019s boutique will offer handmade gifts. Raffle tickets will be for sale for a chance to win a queen-size quilt titled \u201cStar Light, Star Bright.\u201d The raffle tickets are $2 each or three for $5.<\/p>\n<p>Raffle tickets will be for sale at various upcoming community events in Montezuma County, as well as at the quilt show and from guild members.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-x-im-unordered-list\">July 27 from 8 a.m.-noon: Fahrenheit Coffee will sell during Mancos Days.Aug. 2-3: Montezuma County Fair.Aug. 10: Escalante Days in Dolores.<\/div>\n<p>Those wishing to enter a quilt into the show must preregister by 6 p.m. on July 31. To register, visit the guild\u2019s website at <a href=\"doloresmountainquilters.org\" id=\"link-8d63f25d96d271497555dad144021fb2\" target=\"_blank\">doloresmountainquilters.org<\/a> and click on quilt show. Each entry is $5 for nonmembers.<\/p>\n<p>The Dolores Mountain Quilters Guild was established in 1994. They meet the first Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Dolores Community Center. Nonmembers and visitors are welcome at the meetings.<\/p>\n<p>The guild, which has 120 members, has donated over 940 quilts, 1,010 Christmas stockings for children, and $37,400 in cash donations since 2003.
