(Judith Swain\/Courtesy Photo)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Dolores Mountain Quilters\u2019 Guild on Tuesday announced the winners of their biennial quilt show, held Aug. 16 and Aug. 17, saying that the Best in Show award went to Darcie Marquez. Other winners were announced in multiple categories.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the show saw 3,000 raffle tickets sold and 115 quilts exhibited over the course of the two-day show. Nearly 700 people attended, according to Dolores Mountain Quilters member Judith Swain.<\/p>\n<p>The event also utilized more than 70 volunteers who worked at least 950 hours helping make the show possible, Swain said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was wonderful to hear the attendee comments and to see the public immerse themselves in the show. Locals and visitors all appreciated the artistry of the quilts, the vendors and our handcrafts boutique items,\u201d said Lou Ann Jacobson Ball, chairperson of the quilt show committee.<\/p>\n<p>About $5,000 was raised throughout the event, and that money will be distributed to local nonprofits. Even local businesses were able to enjoy the quilt show, as were their customers.<\/p>\n<p>Linnea Peterson, owner of the Dolores Food Market, said, \u201cIt was wonderful to hear our customers raving about the quilt show.
