The landfill currently uses a baling system.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>On Oct. 26, residents of Montezuma County can recycle their e-waste with a 50\/50 fee share with the League of Women Voters at the Montezuma County Landfill, thanks to a $10,000 grant provided by the LOR Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>E-waste refers to electrical or electronic devices, like old phones, computers, televisions, microwaves and printers.<\/p>\n<p>Recycling is allowed 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until funding runs out. Businesses are not allowed to participate.<\/p>\n<p>The Cortez, Dolores and Mancos libraries, city of Cortez, Montezuma County, and KVFC, KRTZ and KSJD radio stations support event, according to the League of Women Voters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe LOR Foundation is excited to support the Montezuma County League of Women Voters on this new initiative,\u201d said LOR\u2019s Cortez community officer, Nicci Crowley.<\/p>\n<p>The League of Women Voters said one of the goals of the program is to encourage citizens to recycle and do it responsibly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe event is to encourage residents to recycle responsibly,\u201d said League of Women Voters\u2019 Connie Clementson.\u00a0\u201cThis will be the culmination of the city of Cortez\u2019s \u2018cleanup week\u2019.
